Stressing tendon
High Speed Rail (Crewe – Manchester) Environmental Statement, Glossary, abbreviations and references, published by the Department for Transport in 2022, defines a stressing tendon as: ‘A high yield steel bar used to apply a compressive force to concrete such that under service conditions there is no net tension within the element.’
